Verotec’s versatile KM6 subrack family

The KM6-II is for general Eurocard/19”-based applications and the heavy-duty KM6-HD version is for use in IEEE1101-10 and 1101-11 bus-based systems, and military and high-vibration environments.
The Verotec general-purpose KM6-II subrack range is a comprehensive integrated system of subracks, panels and modules that provides users with a full tool kit of standard components to house Eurocard / 19” style electronic PCBs. Multiple sizes are available, and a wide choice of accessories enables the most complex systems to be configured from standard parts. Two screw fixings of the tiebars into the side plates give high structural strength and rigidity, enabling the heaviest boards and modules to be housed with complete confidence.
The heavy-duty KM6–HD range features 3mm thick side panels, deep tiebar extrusions and screw-down card guide mounts, to give outstanding protection from shock and vibration. Complete with integral EMC gasketing, a conductive finish throughout, an integral rear plug-up area and guides that provide PCB grounding, an ESD spring position and integral coding, it conforms to the requirements of IEEE1101.10 and 1101.11 for VMEbus, VXI, VME64x, VPX, cPCI, PXI and other open architecture bus-based systems.
Front panels, compatible with all KM6 versions, are a critical building block of subrack-based systems. Two versions are available: unshielded to IEC 60297 and shielded to IEEE 1101.10. Two and four rail modules, which can be fitted with top, bottom and side covers to enclose, screen and protect the PCB, are also available in a wide variety of sizes.
Iridite NCP conductive finish extruded shielded panels are fitted with a double swipe stainless steel EMC gasket. They are available as blank filler panels, with a fixed pull handle or with an improved design of injector/ejector latching handle that generates greater insertion and extraction force for use with high pin count backplane connectors. The injector/ejector handles include a pre-location pin and an ESD protection pin; a live extraction micro switch and additional screw fixings are optional extras.
Unshielded versions are available as blank panels or with pull handles. Both types are available either with both faces anodised and plastic screw-mounting bushes or, where electrical conductivity with the subrack frame is required, with an anodised front face, an iridite NCP rear face and metal fixing bushes. Hinged versions in popular widths are also standard.
In-house customisation capability for all subracks, panels and modules includes legend printing, CNC drilling and milling of holes, cut-outs, ventilation slots and recesses to accept components such as switches, connectors, displays and indicators.
