The benefits of artificial intelligence in detecting machine failure

31 August 2022

Technology continues to evolve at an exponential rate. From one year to the next, we are presented with exceptional new innovations that can effectively make our jobs and everyday lives easier. Artificial intelligence (AI), in this respect, can represent a vital tool – especially if we learn how to use it to our advantage.

This is particularly true in the engineering sector. You may sometimes run into unexpected problems with parts of your equipment. There can be several reasons for the failure of specific parts of a machine. It might be that they have been operated incorrectly by employees without sufficient training. It could be that, for whatever reason, they have not been monitored correctly. Finally, it may simply be that a certain part is nearing the end of its usable life.

It is fair to say that, on occasion, it may be difficult to calculate with a naked eye why and when some sort of malfunction will occur. In these cases, AI can provide a valuable helping hand in spotting forthcoming issues with equipment. Here, FPE Seals explores some of the benefits that technology can offer you in the detection of machine failure and part replacements.
