The move to re-shoring has been a great benefit for Verotec

Re-shoring first came to prominence in the national and technical press at the start of the Covid-19 disruption, usually in the context of US tech giants pulling outsourced manufacturing back to the USA from APAC countries.

The global supply infrastructure has suffered several dislocations over the last two or three years: Covid-19, country-wide lockdowns and the resulting price hikes for container shipping, the Russian invasion of Ukraine, and so on. All well documented and understood.
The disruption caused many UK-based companies, who previously only used local companies for design and development, prototypes and pre-production, to look at their business model. The volume manufacturing by internationally based EMS companies was no longer so attractive.
Verotec manufactures many different metal electronics enclosures – subracks, fan trays, 19” racks and similar products. The company’s strengths are the large library of standard product designs that underpin the modifications required to suit specific applications, its engineering services, and in-house machining and fabrication to give a full, UK-based design and manufacturing service.
