Simple, strong and seamless: A new approach to spring design

In 2019, recognising the complexity of existing spring solutions, Samuel Suvanto sought to develop a spring that could be seamlessly integrated into steel structures. The result: InfiniSpring, a mechanical spring crafted from high-strength steel sheets, using laser cutting. Here, Tero Lokasaari, CEO of InfiniSpring, explores its development journey and the applications that have already benefited from its use.

The higher the yield strength of a steel, the better the performance. InfiniSpring's use of high-strength steel endows its springs with high flexibility and static load-carrying capacity across all directions. 

Shaker table with spring integration
After establishing the company, the first customers were contacted in 2020. One of InfiniSpring’s first projects led to a new shaker table development. The end customer was inspired by InfiniSpring’s integration and saw great potential in using the spring in their shaker table design, which was used for concrete testing. The new shaker table integrated InfiniSpring into the thin sheet metal structure.
