Light towers with and without AS-Interface

02 March 2009

Pepperl+Fuchs has introduced a new light tower that is available with or without AS-Interface. The modular design of this product combines both functionality and cost; and the bayonet connection of each element has the facility to connect up to five lamps or sounders. Lamp modules are available in a range of colours (red, green, yellow, blue, clear) and can be specified with a low cost bulb option or with long life 360º LED units offering 100,000 hours operation time.

The long service life of LEDs ensures low maintenance operation and energy savings over standard light sources. Flashing elements are also available in red or yellow as are audible alarm modules with either 85 or 105 dB (A). The modules use a bayonet locking system and so can be easily assembled and disassembled without tools.

When assembled, the tower has an IP rating of 65. It can be conventionally wired, or with the addition of an optional AS-Interface switching element that enables a direct connection to an AS-Interface network. When connected to a network, the tower can be powered from the network itself or via an auxiliary supply and will switch up to four elements.
