Coupling offers compactness and high functionality

Semiflex Compact Plus from Schmidt-Kupplung is a range of compact, high functionality shaft couplings with external diameters from 70mm to 120mm. The units are easy to assemble using friction locking clamp hubs or, optionally, using a clamp hub in a half-shell configuration. Depending on the size of the coupling, the compact compensating elements tolerate radial misalignment of up to a 3mm. The devices offer torsional rigidity of 13 kNm/rad to 140 kNm/rad, depending on the exterior diameter.

Torque is transmitted by means of a system of two pairs of connecting rods arranged at 90° offsets to each other. These link the input and output sides with the central disc. The connecting rods can be swivelled on a pin, located on the discs. Lateral movement is provided by the swivel action of the pair of connecting rods. The relatively high level of radial misalignment is accomplished with only a small axial design length.

Designers using Schmidt-Kupplung's Semiflex and Controlflex ranges are now able to download CAD files of these products from the company's website. All current 2D and 3D CAD formats are available. Using the drop-down menu, the designer is able to define the bore combinations of the driving end and output side within the permissible bore diameter range of the coupling size and hub version.
