Fans are supercharged for high performance

10 June 2009

A new range of high-performance dc fans is available from Aerco that uses twin impellers to give a ‘supercharge’ effect and create high airflows against system pressure. Available in three sizes: 38 x 38 x 48mm, 40 x 40 x56mm and 60 x 60 x 76mm to give the designer maximum design flexibility, the AS series from ADDA are all rated at 12Vdc and are fitted with a long-life ball bearing system that provides a product life expectancy of 70,000 hours at 40ºC.

The three versions provide airflow in free air of 12.52 litres/sec (26.64CFM), 12.92 litres/sec (27.5CFM) and 38.1 litres/sec (81.07CFM) respectively. The inlet and outlet speeds are different on all three models and are designed to give maximum performance against system pressure. For example the inlet speed of the most powerful version is 11,000 rpm while the outlet is 13,000 rpm with the result that it achieves airflow of 34.31 litres/sec (73CFM) against a system pressure of 14mm (water gauge).
