QinetiQ extends stereolithography offering to provide 'one-stop shop'

QinetiQ's stereolithography rapid prototyping facility has built a bit of
a reputation for delivering high quality prototypes cost effectively, and
to tight schedules. hitherto, these have been mainly supplied to the RP
industry, but with recent system upgrades and some internal
restructuring, this leading research organisation is now extending its
bureau service to the wider, end-user market.

QinetiQ's machine has been upgraded to the latest specification
(SLA-5000) by the addition of a solid state laser and SmartSweep
software. The addition of DSM Somos 7120 and 9120 materials also gives
customers a choice of specific application resins, 7120 providing
rigidity, humidity tolerance and high accuracy, and the 'functional'
epoxy 9120, providing similar properties to polypropylene. The largest
individual model that can be produced measures 500x500x585mm, with larger
models being achieved by permanently bonding individual components
together.
