Two-part silicone adhesive for temperatures up to 220°C continuous or 300°C transient

06 April 2010

Loctite 5612 is a new two-part silicone adhesive designed for bonding glass, metals, ceramics, most plastics and elastomers where temperatures up to 220°C continuous or transient peaks of 300°C are involved.

Like similar Loctite two-part silicones, a rapid cure can be achieved and the bond is extremely flexible and gives good adhesion without the need for a primer.  Fixture time is achieved in around 25 minutes.

Although a two-part product, no manual mixing is required, with dispensing being carried out by means of a bi-mixer nozzle attached to a pneumatic gun.

Typical uses for Loctite 5612 include the bonding and sealing of glass and ceramic stove tops to appliance frames, securing brackets to back of stove tops, bonding glass to microwave oven doors and the sealing of washing machine drums.

Outside of the appliance market, it can be utilised for cabinet and panel bonding and sealing, replacing gaskets and mechanical fixing, bonding glass to reflectors or frames.
