Coventry power transmissions specialists to merge
14 April 2010

Coventry based NDE Clarke Transmissions Ltd and Pitchline Transmissions Ltd have formally merged their operations from the beginning of April 2010. NDE Clarke Transmissions manufactures universally jointed flexible driveshafts for the bus, truck, marine and industrial markets and Pitchline Transmissions manufactures gear type flexible couplings for the mining and metal industries markets.
The companies have now fully integrated their management, sales administration and production facilities to form a highly focused specialist mechanical power transmission company that specialises in universal drive shafts and flexible gear type couplings. The newly enlarged company will be renamed NDE Clarke Pitchline Ltd.
The current owners acquired both companies in 2000 and moved to their current premises in 2001 and have, up until now, operated as two separate companies with their own individual identities. Over time the companies have moved closer together and the owners now feel that the time is right to merge the two operations.
The new company is now poised to exploit some significant opportunities both in the UK and in Europe over the next 12-18 months, which will drive future growth and profitability. It is anticipated that new jobs will be created in both design and manufacturing departments which will come as welcome news in a generally depressed manufacturing sector.
The company has invested heavily in new skills, equipment and research and development over the past ten years and now feels that this investment is set to be rewarded with the addition of new business from new customers and markets won on quality and innovation rather than just on price.
