Super small, single-phase power supply from PULS

28 April 2010

PULS UK has introduced its latest Q-series single-phase unit, the 1kW QS40. As with other PULS devices the new 40A unit is compact, measuring only 125 x 124 x 127mm and weighing just 1.5 kg. This small size allows multiple units to be used in parallel for applications requiring additional power, while an efficiency of over 94% eliminates the need for fan cooling, enablinging the devices to be easily mounted side-by-side on the DIN-rail. A maximum inrush current of only 14A allows lighter cabling to be used without compromising safety and reliability.

With large power reserves of 150% the QS40 is suitable for starting heavy equipment such as DC-motors or capacitive loads. In many cases it can be used in applications that would otherwise require a higher power unit, saving space and expense.
