Compact control for battery operated, mobile servo systems

17 May 2010

Designed as a low voltage, compact module to provide power and control for battery operated, mobile servo systems, the IMDC range from Norwin Electronics comprises 10A and 20A continuous current rated models. Operating modes include torque, speed, position and stepper (pulse input, direction), while advanced motion functions in position mode include S profile, gearbox, cam profiles, cam boxes, synchronization, registration and PLC.

Control functions are achieved via a built in motion controller and PLC that offer high-speed control loops for current, speed and positioning of motors with resolver feedback. The IMDC also offers high resolution analogue inputs of 12 and 16 bits and digital I/O with the option for CANopen and Modbus RTU fieldbus modules.

Set up tools enable the system engineer to configure the system and write programs that can be saved on an optional plug in memory stick for security.

Whether it’s mobile storage and retrieval, guided ground vehicles, or portable machinery systems the IMDC, offering 3 device functions in a single unit, provides a compact and practical 24 to 48 volt solution for brushless servo motor systems.
