The new Sensortechnics LBA series offers differential low pressure measurement in the 250 to 500Pa range. The sensors integral analogue signal conditioning ensures a linear and temperature compensated output with an impressive differential pressure resolution of typically 0.1 per cent and a fast response time of typically 1ms.Featuring superior sensitivity and offset stability, LBA devices are based on the thermal flow measurement of gas through a micro-flow channel integrated within the sensor chip. This very narrow channel reduces the flow through the LBA sensor by several magnitudes compared with other flow-based pressure sensors. The extremely low gas flow ensures high immunity to dust contamination and condensation, and allows connecting tubes and input filters to be used without having to recalibrate or correct the output signal. Because the flow impedance is predefined at the sensor chip level, LBA series devices are available in very small and cost-effective PCB-mountable housings. These highly sensitive pressure sensors are suitable for detecting very small pressure differences in many medical respiratory devices such as ventilators, spirometers, sleep diagnostic equipment, nebulizers and oxygen concentrators/conservers. The devices are also suitable for industrial HVAC applications.
