North West firm wins Best British Business Award

Preston based Leyland Trucks won the Best Overall Business award at the 2010 Manufacturing Excellence (MX) Awards event in London last night (June 23). It has also become the first firm in the event’s 28-year-history to win the top award two years in a row. The Award is sponsored by the Department for Business Innovation and Skills’ Manufacturing Advisory Service and Business and is run by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE).

There were a total of 12 awards at the event, including Overall Winner and Best Small to Medium Enterprise which went to Leyland and Pipex in Plymouth respectively. Leyland was a finalist in eight out of the 12 awards.
