Brass Inserts For Cold Pressed Applications

01 July 2004

Spirol has introduced a range of brass press-in inserts for ABS or
polycarbonate materials that can be installed using either an arbour
press or fully automated machine. A helical knurl on the outer surface of
the insert optimises plastic migration, resulting in good pull-out and
torque resistance, while a generous pilot is provided to ensure proper
alignment and perpendicularity on insertion. The insert can be pressed
into a pre-formed hole without first having to melt the plastic.
