TUV Product Service, a UK subsidiary of the TUV SUD group, has acquired the shares of the Laidler group of companies, a UK based machinery safety compliance organisation. Operating from offices in Cleveland and Yorkshire, the Laidler group has consolidated sales of £2.6 million and 30 employees.
Offering machinery safety advice to a very broad range of industries, Laidler has been growing at over 20 percent per year over the last two years. The company helps businesses find the most cost-effective and practical route to compliance with the EU Machinery Directive and associated health and safety legislation, as well as providing them with practical methods to meet these obligations.
“The acquisition of Laidler brings a wealth of experience in machinery safety to our UK organisation and a position in the UK that is second to none”, says Jean-Louis Evans, managing director of TUV Product Service. “We feel that there are considerable synergies between our two organisations and that bringing the two organisations together will establish a much stronger Machinery Safety business for us in the UK”.
Paul Laidler, managing director of Laidler Associates, says: “We are delighted to be part of the TUV SUD group whose excellent reputation and international reach will allow us to expand our activities at a faster rate than if we had remained as a standalone business. Our respective businesses in the UK are very complementary and we are looking forward to adding new activities to our existing portfolio of services."
