Hazardous area cable glands

26 August 2010

Weidmuller has introduced new hazardous area cable glands to complement its enclosures range for hazardous area duties. The Klippon glands for armoured and non-armoured cables are designed for use in Ex e (increased safety) and Ex d (flameproof) applications. These products can be used with Weidmuller's Klippon STB, POK, and TB steel and stainless steel enclosures, where they provide sealing and termination in order to maintain the rating of the enclosure.

Accessories include Klippon stopping plugs, locknuts, IP washers, serrated washers, shrouds and earth tags. Depending on the type of gland, it is possible to terminate screened, braided, lead sheathed cables as well as steel wire and steel tape cables from M20 to M75. They have an operational temperature range from –60 °C to +180 °C.
