EngineeringUK receives delegation from Singapore Ministry of Manpower

EngineeringUK met with the Singapore Ministry of Manpower recently to share best practice about promoting the engineering industry. EngineeringUK chief executive, Paul Jackson (pictured left with representatives from the Singapore Ministry of Manpower) played host at EngineeringUK’s headquarters in London where the main point of the meeting was to share ideas about promoting the engineering Industry to young people.
Mr Jackson advised the representatives on how to promote engineering to young people, drawing on examples from highly successful events such as The Big Bang: UK Young Scientists and Engineers Fair, which engages pupils in the whole STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) sector.
The Singapore Ministry of Manpower was visiting various organisations in the UK to learn from their experience and best practices in areas, such as labour market analysis and policy research.
Paul Jackson said: “Although EngineeringUK is focused on promoting engineering and engineers within the UK, we appreciate that many engineering companies handle international projects. Working together with organisations such as The Singapore Ministry of Manpower can help strengthen the industry nationally and internationally.”
