Free industrial IP convergence seminars announced for November
08 October 2010
Routeco, in cooperation with Cisco, Panduit and Rockwell Automation, will be conducting a free Industrial IP Convergence seminar in three UK locations in November 2010. Addressed to those tasked with any element of production efficiency improvement and future planning of facility network management, the event will provide the ideal opportunity to get an insight into the business benefits and efficiencies that can be achieved by conjoining manufacturing and enterprise networks.

Business pressures for efficiencies are driving convergence in the industrial space. Put simply, industrial IP convergence implies the conjoining of differing types of traffic such as Control, Voice, Video, Data and Security over the same network based on the Internet Protocol (IP). Enterprise convergence lowers the total cost of ownership of maintaining disparate networks and brings the management of functionalities firmly within the IT department’s remit.
The seminar will take place in three locations: AMP Technology Centre in Sheffield on 9th November 2010, Brunel University (West London) on 11th November 2010, and University of Warwick on 16th November 2010.
The aim of the seminar is to provide production and IT directors and managers with the most up-to-date information, tools, trends, and strategies for addressing industrial IP convergence issues in a variety of industries, allowing them to plan for the future development of their production environment. The seminar will feature a range of sessions addressing topics such as:
Network management
Energy and utility measurement and monitoring
Productivity improvements
Total cost of ownership reduction
Practicalities and benefits of deploying single networks
Future-proofing your production facility
Trends and best practice across Industry
Cost savings of converged networks
Improved security management
Factory of the Future
Sustainability and how it affects your bottom line
