Non-Spill Couplings Reduce Risk Of Organo-Phosphate Contamination

Veterinary medical and nutritional company, Animax has developed a manual pump system for the correct dispensing of its organo-phosphate sheep dip, Paracide+. In order to make this a closed transfer system (now a legal requirement in the UK), it uses Colder Products' (CP's) type NS4 non-spill couplings, which reduce the risk of spill or exposure to these chemicals.From the chemical container, a dispense adapter with two fittings is connected via a CP non-spill coupling and a reinforced flexible hose. A disposable syringe measures the precise amount of liquid being dispensed into the sheep bath, which is pre-filled with water. Once the product has been dispensed, the drum is disconnected and the connectors are changed, enabling the use of clean water to flush out the drum. The couplings are colour coded to differentiate between dispensing and rinsing operations.Colder's UK distributor, Tom Parker was involved with the project from the start, choosing the right models for the application and organising custom-made parts.
