Split clamp-hubs ensure an easy 'drop-out 'installation

15 October 2010

Semiflex from Schmidt Kupplung is a torsionally stiff, precision shaft coupling for applications where shaft alignment cannot be guaranteed due to manufacturing tolerances, assembly procedures, wear or operational specifics. All types of shaft misalignment are accommodated; radially it is compensated via pivoting parallel movement. No restoring forces are induced. The angular velocity of the connected shafts remains totally synchronised, regardless of the shaft misalignment, and no restoring forces are induced. Semiflex requires very little axial space, and its misalignment capacity is not a function of coupling length.

For application where machine parts cannot be moved axially, Semiflex Standard is available in coupling diameters ranging from 70mm to 120mm with split clamp-hubs that ensure a convenient 'drop-out' installation. The couplings are designed to be installed without moving other machine parts.

For applications with higher torque requirements, such as roll forming machines, the torsionally-stiff couplings in split clamp-hub form offer a very convenient solution.  In order to meet these heavy-duty applications, special coupling sizes (diameters from 160mm to 180mm) and higher torque capacities are available.
