Processors boost performance without breaking the bank

18 November 2010

A new CPU board with an Intel Core2 Duo P8400 processor now provides an even more powerful platform for B&R's Automation PC 810 and Panel PC 800 devices. The combination of the 2.26 GHz Core2 Duo processor and the GM45 chipset provides the highest levels of performance at an extremely attractive price, even for demanding vision inspection applications.

Both processor cores share a 3MB level 2 cache, which allows efficient multitasking. The fast 1.066MHz frontside bus is also combined with DDR3 RAM modules, thus rounding out the high-performance infrastructure of the entire system.

The different device variants can easily be scaled to meet the requirements of any task. Smaller variants of the APC810 with one or two slots, larger types with three slots and the PC with five slots make sure there is a device type to meet application needs, regardless of how many cards are required. This saves valuable space in the switching cabinet.

Panel PC 800 systems with their high-brilliance 15in XGA and 19in SXGA displays and either one or two slots, also form an ideal foundation for any system. From the broad performance range of energy-saving Intel Atom N270 processors to powerful Core2 Duo processors, all the user has to do is select the ideal combination of system unit and CPU.
