LCD colour module offers cheaper alternative to conventional TFT

16 December 2010

GTK has introduced a 27 colour negative mode field sequential LCD module that offers a 200:1 contrast ratio, a response time of 7ms and wide viewing angles. It has an integral RGB backlight and in full colour operation will tolerate a temperature range of 0 to 700C. If used in four-colour mode, the temperature range extends to between -20 and 800C.

This technology is cost effective compared with traditional TFT technology, and is suitable for those applications that do not require full graphical display. Unit costs for this product are typically 50% lower than traditional colour TFT technology, but there are significant additional cost savings in terms of R & D and programming.
