Southco wins Green Apple environment award
27 January 2011
Worcester-based Southco Manufacturing was one of the 2010 winners from more than 500 nominations in The Green Apple Awards. Presented annually by The Green Organisation, the Awards recognise companies, councils and communities carrying out projects that enhance the environment. The bronze-winning entry from fastener manufacturer Southco, was for Environmental Best Practice and Sustainability within the Automotive Sector. Much of the credit for this achievement goes to the commitment of the Worcester team which gave its full support to a recent company-wide environmental awareness day, including taking part in workshops based on a 'green-themed' day. The event was coordinated by quality systems engineer Sadie Lewis as part of the company’s focus to reduce waste at its Worcester site.
