Linear dc servomotor weighs just 17g but delivers nearly 3N force

Faulhaber has added a smaller, high performance linear dc servomotor to its range. Based on its innovative QUICKSHAFT technology, the LM 0830 measures just 8x12x30 mm and weighs only 17 grams, yet it delivers a peak force of 2.74N and a maximum speed of 2.4m/s. The 4mm diameter forcer rod is available in different lengths to provide strokes of up to 40mm. The device incorporates three analogue Hall sensors for position and speed control feedback, generally avoiding the need for an encoder.

The three output signals, are 120° phase shifted, and can be sent to an external controller for commutation, speed and position control. Faulhaber's MCLM series motion controllers are available with RS232 and with CAN interfaces, and are programmed using the company's Motion Manager software, which makes parameter adjustment and motion control simple and fast.
This micro-sized powerhouse is suitable for space-limited applications requiring high precision linear movement. The motors are highly efficient and maintenance free and, thanks to their simple, frictionless design, they offer long life. The Faulhaber range is distributed exclusively in the UK by Electro Mechanical Systems
