Water-tight and corrosion resistant planetary gearheads
02 March 2011
Thomson's new AquaTRUE planetary gearheads are suitable for applications requiring a high degree of water tightness and corrosion resistance, such as those encountered in the food processing and beverage industries. where components are exposed to high-pressure washdown with caustic cleaning agents. AquaTRUE is believed to be the first planetary gearhead to be certified in accordance with NSF/ANSI 169. Furthermore, only lubricants approved by the FDA are used in all models.
The round, fully stainless steel housing is formed without seams to avoid bacterial colonisation, and all AquaTRUE planetary gearheads are manufactured in line with IP66/IP67 and IP69K degrees of protection as standard. These planetary gearheads are available in sizes 60, 80, 120 and 160mm; with a maximum degree of precision of 13 arc minutes. At a torque capacity of up to 876Nm, they support gearing up and gearing down from 1:3 to 10:1 in a single stage.
