Adhesives gain WRAS approval

31 March 2011

Loctite 2400 and Loctite 2700 threadlocking adhesives from Henkel have been granted WRAS (Water Regulations Advisory Scheme) approval, allowing them to be used with potable water. This approval demonstrates that the products do not contaminate water and therefore satisfy this particular requirement of regulations and byelaws. The approval is in addition to the existing qualifications for 'white' Material Safety Data Sheets.

Loctite 2400 is fluorescent blue with a viscosity of 3000mPa·s and a shear strength on steel of 9N/mm².  The high-strength Loctite 2700 is fluorescent green, has a viscosity of 500mPa·s and a shear strength of 18N/mm². Once cured, both products offer excellent resistance against vibration and most industrial chemicals. They achieve good thermal resistance, withstanding continuous operating temperatures up to 150°C.
