Queen’s Awards top 156 this year

The Queen’s Awards for Enterprise 2011 have been announced. Some 156 companies received the accolade this year, with 102 companies winning awards for international trade, 44 for innovation and ten for sustainable development. In addition, eleven individuals have received The Queen’s Award for Enterprise Promotion (QAEP) for their inspiring efforts to encourage UK entrepreneurship.

Delcam received its third Queen’s Award for International Trade and its sixth Award in total. Trident Sensors has won a Queen's Award for Enterprise in the Innovation category for its Polaris tracking system.

Cambridge Consultants has been awarded its second Queen's Award for Enterprise, this year in the Innovation category, for its through-wall radar, Prism 200. Ultra-precision polishing specialist, Zeeko has won a Queen's Award for Enterprise in the Innovation category for its Optic Fabrication Centre.

Renishaw has received a Queen’s Award for Enterprise in the Innovations category, the company’s fourteenth since its formation in 1973, and its fifth in just eight years. This Award has been granted for the development of the TRS2 laser-based non-contact broken tool detection system.
