Colourful new ideas from WERMA launched at Hannover 2011

The highlight of several new products launched by WERMA at this year’s Hannover Fair is a new range of LED beacons aimed at the installation and panel build market. Traditionally users have had to mount individually coloured beacons to indicate different machine/panel status conditions. The challenge to the Werma designers was to come up with a single beacon which could be illuminated simply in several different colours, thus obviating the need for a row of different coloured beacons.
In recent years it has been possible to select and trigger different colours within the same beacon by using ASi interface programming. For some users this had the disadvantage that the product could only be connected to the machine/panel with a USB connection.
The new 239 Series LED Installation Beacon (Multicolour) makes life so much more simple. The compact Beacon – 50mm diameter, 22mm cutout – has five colours which can be simply selected by Bit coded triggering of the lights. Five colours can be triggered, red, yellow, green, clear and blue. The basic colours (red, yellow and green) can be triggered using just three PLC outputs.
The high protection rating IP65 ensures reliable signalling both indoors and outdoors.
The 239 series Multicolour represents a big step forward in providing new innovative solutions for the installation market. This new design brings cost saving benefits to the customer who now just needs to buy a single unit rather than multiple coloured beacons and the installation is simple and cost efficient.
