‘Spin’ action rivet nut hand tool joins variety of materials

14 June 2011

The new RNHT48 rivet nut hand tool from MEMFast comes packed in a strong aluminium case with individual foam cut outs for each component. Manufactured in the UK, this robust tool is very flexible, installing M4 to M10 rivet nuts in steel, stainless steel, aluminium and brass using a simple ‘spin’ action. There is no stroke to set, and it is much more compact than lever type tools.

The mandrels are standard 12.9 grade socket head cap screws, which are easy to obtain, and, if worn or broken, are just as easily and quickly changed. Spare mandrels are included with the tool, along with a 10mm ratchet spanner to assist with installation of larger sizes of rivet nuts and a special hex allen key to extract worn or broken mandrels.

All components are zinc nickel silver plated which will provide up to 4,000 hours salt spray resistance, and the outer bodies and inner hex screw drives are case hardened for long life.
Because of its ‘spin’ action, the RNHT48 is suitable for use with sheet metal, plastics, GRP and composite materials.
