Safety is simply configured using Phoenix Contact's Safeconf software
13 July 2011
The logic for the PSR-Trisafe safety module from Phoenix Contact can be generated in a simple drag-and-drop operation using the free Safeconf configuration software. All of the necessary functions are available on the user interface so it is no longer necessary to waste time jumping between windows. The safety circuit can be configured without any programming know-how, and with just a few mouse clicks.

The integrated simulation mode and automatic logic check function assist users already when designing safety circuits. Using the simulation function, all of the logic is tested at the PC without requiring any additional hardware or without having to use a pre-installed machine. As a consequence, possible errors are corrected before the machine is actually commissioned, therefore reducing project execution times.
The safety logic configured with a few simple mouse clicks reduces wiring costs, and subsequent modifications can be implemented with minimum associated costs. Once the safety logic has been designed and tested at the PC, it is downloaded into the configurable PSR-Trisafe safety module using a standard USB cable.
The module is just 67.5 mm wide and can evaluate up to 20 safe input signals. Further, the device has four integrated safe outputs (up to Cat. 4) as well as cycle and signalling outputs and outputs that switch with respect to ground.
