All-stainless steel gearheads for hygienic duties

05 August 2011

Inmoco has expanded its Thomson range of precision planetary gearheads with the introduction of the Micron AquaTRUE. These 100% stainless steel gearheads are suitable for hygiene-critical industries, and can be installed anywhere in the process, eliminating the cost – and bulk - of watertight enclosures or shielding. The IP67 protected, crevice-free units tolerate caustic cleaning chemicals and high pressure washdowns.

AquaTRUE Planetary Gearheads are available in 60, 80, 120 and 160mm frame sizes, with ratios from 3:1 to 10:1, and offer torque capacities up to 876Nm and precision to 13 arc-min. All Micron gearheads are self-lubricating and have high radial load capacity for any given size. The ability to match inertias with a large variety of ratios provides stable and well controlled servo systems.

Inmoco is supporting the Micron AquaTRUE range with a number of Thomson gearhead-specific training and design tools to help machine builders specify the right gearhead for their next machine. Micron MOTIONEERING is a gearhead sizing and selection tool to help machine builders correctly specify gearheads for high precision motion control applications that require a high torque to volume ratio, high torsional stiffness, and low backlash.
