Yorkshire firm wins large-scale bespoke conveyor system contract for Saudi Arabia

05 October 2011

Yorkshire based Hiley Engineering has secured a contract, in excess of half a million dollars, to design and supply a large-scale bespoke conveyor system to Saudi Arabia for food production giant Kraft Foods. Although the export market has always been a key element of the company’s business strategy, notably the North and South American markets - this is its first undertaking in Saudi Arabia.

Whilst the project has thrown up a number of design and logistical challenges – these have been surmounted thanks to recent investments in computer aided design technologies, allied to a single point of management project responsibility.

Managing director, Mark Hiley (pictured here) says the project is proving to be an exciting and demanding piece of work. "The level of experience within the company has ensured that everything is running to agreed timescales and budgets," he says, "even though elements of the job have required answers that demanded innovative and inspired design work."

The system has been manufactured and assembled for the factory acceptance test, which was recently successfully completed.  The conveyor system will now be shipped to Saudi Arabia where, on arrival, it will be installed and commissioned under the supervision of Hiley Engineering.
