Lenze extends I/O system in response to customer demand
03 November 2011
The Lenze I/O System 1000 has been extended in response to customer demand with additional bus couplers and module functions. The system is popular because of its compact size with DIN rail mounting, particularly easy handling and low costs. The high bandwidth of 48MBits/s allows speedy response times and the use of real-time buses. There are now three standard field bus and three Ethernet-based bus couplers available, each able to support up to 64 modules of I/O or other functionality.

Stations of I/O can be created without the need for tools. The 12.5mm wide modules clip together onto a DIN rail, and wire connections are push-in using clamp cage technology. The particularly easy handling is illustrated by clear labelling, LED indications on each channel and a two part construction where the electronics can be exchanged without disturbing the wiring. An integrated support for a standard 10 x 3mm shield bus bar is included so EMC shielding can be achieved easily without external terminals.
The popular European field buses CANopen and PROFIBUS, also the American DeviceNet, can be chosen as the bus coupler, the module that transmits data from the end of the I/O station. Because of the high data capacity, Ethernet based bus systems and real time buses can also be used, in particular EtherCAT, PROFINET and Modbus TCP. As well as digital and analog I/O, modules are now available for temperature measurement, counters, relays and encoder feedback. Additional power supply modules can be included to power larger I/O stations and external electronics.
The Lenze I/O System 1000 is a modern and modular product that combines performance with economy and particularly easy handling. The extended range now gives the functionality to suit practically all machine building requirements.
Compact modules of the Lenze I/O System 1000 are DIN rail mountable.
