WDS extends gas struts and end fittings ranges

07 November 2011

WDS has extended its range of gas struts and DIN standard end fittings. These high quality gas struts are suitable for a wide range of applications, with adjustment valves included to allow for precise calibration. A number of end fittings have also been included in the launch to allow the new products to be used in a variety of applications, from access hatches to machine enclosures.

The new range includes both carbon steel – with black powder coating – and stainless steel gas struts that are designed to produce forces between 20 and 2,500 Newtons. With standard rods / bodies sized at 6/15mm, 8/19mm, 10/22mm and 14/28mm, the products are available ex-stock; meaning that next day delivery is available. The high quality struts include a brass adjusting valve and are fitted with long lasting gland seals to ensure a constant and precise pressure level.

The gas struts have been designed for use in many applications and are suitable for both light and heavy duty use. To integrate the gas struts into many possible applications – such as industrial machinery, enclosures and access hatches – WDS has also launched a number of DIN standard end fittings. Both steel-zinc-plated and stainless steel accessories are available including spring bolts, clevis pins and angle joints.

A new catalogue has been released to accompany the new product range which can be requested direct from WDS, alternatively you can view the product range online here. The catalogue includes a price list for single one-off purchase through to bulk orders. The technical specification includes useful equations for calculating the pressures that will be required from the gas struts to support different weights.

As with all of WDS’s wide range of products, detailed 2D and 3D product models are available to download free online in a number of popular CAD compatible formats, including fully annotated files.
