High torque, multi-option air motor from Parker
01 December 2011
Parker Hannifin has introduced an air motor that offers high levels of torque, power and speed in a wide range of applications. The P1V-M integrates a vane motor with a planetary gearbox and can be configured to offer up to 27 different output options. Maintenance can be carried out with the motor being left in-situ, the simple the vane unit being accessed from the rear.

There are three motor sizes, rated at 200, 400 and 600W, with a choice of one, two or three stage gearboxes, all of which are available in multiple combinations that can be configured quickly and simply by OEMs or distributors, helping to minimise stock holdings while improving flexibility and speed of service at the point of use or supply.
The PV1-M is capable of providing output shaft free speeds from a minimum of 30rpm to a maximum of 10,000rpm, with torque up to 400Nm at maximum power. High levels of torque can be achieved at low speeds, and for applications where the motor is configured to be braked to a standstill the maximum torque can rise to 800Nm.
In order to accommodate these loads, the gearbox is permanently lubricated and features tough cast iron and aluminium internal components. The output shaft is manufactured from hardened steel and incorporates high performance double bearings to withstand both axial and radial forces.
