Liquid cooled servomotor delivers more than double the power
03 January 2012
SEM has extended its range of high- and low-inertia servomotors with the addition of a compact liquid cooled HW series, generating more than twice the power of the standard servomotor equivalent and offering improved dynamic performance. SEM has managed to add the integral cooling jacket to the motor without any significant increase in the size of its housing, while at the same time increasing stall torque on its 190 frame models to 134Nm with output power rising to 29kW.
These figures represent nearly a three-fold increase in power density compared with SEM’s standard air cooled servomotors with the same flange size. The new series is compatible with existing motors and uses industry standard flanges, and a variety of feedback devices can be used, from resolver to high precision encoder. Additionally options include various holding brakes and thermal sensors.
