Novel pushbutton selector switch offers two functions in a single unit

19 January 2012

IDEC's novel pushbutton selector switch, the HW1R, joins the popular 22mm HW series, offering separate operators and contact blocks for maximum user flexibility. The HW1R operator has two functions in one unit: an outer ring performing the function of the selector switch which, when positioned to the left or right, enables only the contact blocks on that side of the unit, and a second function performed by the push button mounted on the inside of the outer ring selector.

This means that, depending upon the position of the outer ring selector switch, up to three contacts can be operated independently of the other three contacts by the operation of the push button operator mounted inside of the outer ring selector switch.

The big advantage of this is space saving on a small control panel, plus ease of installation. Because two functions are available in the single operator, one unit can be used for motor start/stop, elevator up/down and other similar operations.
