Wall mounted, space-saving slimline 2.5U 19in enclosure
03 May 2012
Verotec has introduced a slimline wall mounted enclosure that can house electronic or electrical equipment mounted on 1U or 2U 19in panels, fitting vertically into the two separate 2.5U deep panel mountings in the unit. It can also be used as a horizontal breakout cabinet or as a distribution unit in structured cabling systems employing either copper or fibre media.

The vertical mounting configuration makes it a space-saving alternative to traditional wall mounted enclosures, which are typically at least 500mm deep. Finished in pale grey RAL 7035 with a dusty grey RAL 7037 door, the key-lockable steel cabinet measures 500mm high, 335mm wide and 115mm deep.
The slim depth and attractive design enables the enclosure to be mounted unobtrusively in industrial, computer room and office environments.
Two removable gland plates provide top and bottom cable entries to the unit, and a further cable entry is provided in the rear of the enclosure. The ½U (2 mm) space behind the 19in panel mounting provides storage space for the cable runs in and out of the cabinet.
When used as a LAN cabling enclosure, 19in copper and fibre patch panels and cable management hardware, as well as all popular types of fibre splice trays, can easily be mounted in the unit. Cable capstans can be fitted to preserve minimum bend radii for fibre media and dedicated storage areas created for spare cable.
