Brochure includes 'challenge-to-solutions' examples for test, measurement and inspection

Aerotech's latest brochure describes high-throughput micropositioning for manufacturing production, quality control, R&D, vacuum and cleanroom environments through a series of test related applications that include sensor testing, surface profiling, nondestructive test, semiconductor inspection and metrology, cleanroom and high-vacuum systems, and integrated automation and data acquisition.
The 72-page brochure, entitled: Motion and Automation for Test, Measurement and Inspection, includes 'challenge-to-solutions' examples that explore Aerotech's ability to build and combine its wide range of high precision positioning mechanics and advanced motion controls with custom designed and engineered motion systems in order to fulfil the enabling micropositioning technology for end users, integrators, researchers and high-volume OEMs in some of the most demanding automation applications seen today.
The scope of applications covered includes single- and multi-axis rate tables with motion simulation software for inertial navigation system and component test, compact surface measurement platforms for semiconductor wafer and optical component inspection, X-ray and ultrasonic positioning systems for non-destructive testing, nanometre resolution scanning systems for atomic force microscopy.
The brochure includes rotary and linear motion mechanics with air bearing and mechanical bearing designs, and with both direct drive and ballscrew or worm/wheel drive systems. A complete section on integrated automation and data acquisition systems details the wide choice of Aerotech advanced motion systems, from the PC based Automation 3200 multi-axis platform through to the standalone Ensemble and Soloist intelligent drive systems.
Aerotech's MotionPAC PLC with integrated motion features the flexibility of IEC 61131-3, .NET, and PLCopen programming whilst the new Sensor Fusion allows the completely synchronised data acquisition of sensor and position information.
