New Epoxy Dispenser Increases Output, Reduces Hand Fatigue In Potting And Filling Operations

30 October 2005

The new EFD Ultra(tm) 1400 dispenser makes it easy to fill or pot switches, capacitors and other recessed components with the same amount of epoxy every time, without rework or repetitive hand motions.

The Ultra 1400 is a compact benchtop unit that uses a microprocessor-based digital timer and controlled air pressure to regulate the amount of epoxy dispensed into each cavity. A convenient Teach function makes it simple for the user to determine the correct fill volume for the first part, then match that setting to fill every other part with an identical amount of epoxy.

Epoxy is contained in a disposable syringe barrel fitted with a precision dispense tip, and the syringe is connected to the dispenser console by a flexible air line. No pushing or squeezing is required-the operator simply holds the syringe like a pen, inserts the dispense tip in the cavity, and presses an electric foot pedal to fill each part with epoxy from the bottom up, without bubbles or voids.

A clean cut-off at the end of the dispense cycle prevents oozing between shots. Each dispenser includes a complete introductory supply of syringe barrels, pistons and dispense tips matched to the user's specific application, along with a 2-year warranty.
