Expandable high-performance, high-reliability embedded fanless computers

18 July 2012

Captec's latest EFC-22 embedded fanless computers come with the expansion capabilities all within a compact embedded form factor. They are based on the latest third generation Intel Core i technology and offer this level of performance coupled with the expansion capability of two plug-in card slots plus CFast socket, to provide application specific functions.

The EFC-22 has no moving parts and is sealed against dust ingress, significantly increasing its reliability and suitability for use close to vibrating machinery. It incorporates ‘Intel Active Management Technology’ allowing remote management via a network, reducing the need for local access.

The EFC-22 incorporates thermal management allowing operation at temperatures from -5 to +55 degrees C.

Although compact in design, the EFC-22 provides extensive I/O including; three independent video display outputs, six USB ports (front and rear), dual 1Gb Ethernet, six RS232 ports, one of which can be configured to RS422/485, and a SIM card port for remote communication.

For applications requiring even higher performance and more expansion, Captec offers the IC-31, a compact embedded computer with four expansion slots and a range of Core i processors.
