Cost-effective variable speed drive with embedded micro-PLC

18 December 2012

WEG has launched a new cost-effective range of inverter drives that gives exceptional performance for three-phase induction motor control. The CFW500 range delivers a high level of control, but at an affordable price.

The CFW500 range is available in power ratings from 0.18kW to 22kW, and includes a built-in micro-PLC, which can be programmed according to standard protocol IEC 61131-3. It also comes with pre-programmed macros for a range of applications, including positioning, timer and acceleration.

Users can program the drive using the LCD HMI display, or via a computer through a variety of interfaces (RS232, USB, RS485). The WLP software for programming and monitoring is provided free of charge.

Designed to accept up to 64 different plug-in modules, the  CFW500 is suitable for decentralised automation schemes and offers connectivity to Profibus-DP, DeviceNet and CANopen.

An integral display shows up to three simultaneous variables plus inverter performance indicators
