Joining forces to create UK’s biggest multi-sector business event

10 January 2013

The Technology Strategy Board and UK Trade & Investment have announced a joint venture which sees the two organisations unite the highly successful Innovate and TechWorld events.

The new, multi-sector, networking event ‘Innovate UK’ (March 11-13 2013 - Business Design Centre, London) will provide opportunities for companies looking to accelerate their growth through technology innovation, international trade and investment.

Innovate UK will bring together 4,000 people from UK and international business, Government and academia, with the aim of accelerating UK economic growth by stimulating business-led innovation and opening up international trade opportunities.

Iain Gray, Chief Executive of the Technology Strategy Board said: “Both Innovate and TechWorld have long established track records of individual success, so we’re really pleased to be uniting them under the single brand, Innovate UK. By inviting businesses across the UK to showcase their innovations and mix with experts in prolific technology innovation areas we hope Innovate UK will become an even greater show of the UK’s entrepreneurial might, on the global stage.”

Nick Baird, Chief Executive of UK Trade & Investment said: "Over the last two years, businesses that attended Innovate and TechWorld collectively generated over £70m worth of UK trade; 65% of them identified new business opportunities and 77% said they learned something that would help them to innovate. By bringing the events together we hope to deliver even more success for UK businesses whether by helping them grow through innovation, international trade and investment or collaborative opportunities.”

Innovate UK will include one to one meeting opportunities, seminars, workshops, an exhibition and keynote sessions featuring leading business and ministerial representatives. During the three days, businesses can share knowledge, access expert advice, showcase innovation and find collaborative partners.

Early bird tickets cost £99 (including VAT) and the offer closes at midnight on Friday 18 January. Full price tickets are £125 (including VAT). Click here for more information or follow on Twitter @InnovateUK
