UK business opportunities to be highlighted at ELI project seminar

UK industry can find out more about the business opportunities provided by the Extreme Light Infrastructure (ELI) Project’s Attosecond Facility, currently under development in Hungary.

Organised by UK Trade & Investment (UKTI), in association with the Science & Technology Facilities Council (STFC) on 21- 22 February 2013, a seminar will give delegates an insight into how they might work with the ELI Attosecond Facility in Hungary, by gaining an understanding of the facility’s current and future technology needs.
In addition, attendees will also have the opportunity to meet with key decision makers from the project during scheduled one-to-one meetings in order to ask specific questions and highlight available technologies.
The ELI Project is an integral part of the European plan to build a next generation laser facility. Implementation of ELI will include the building of three laser facilities that will be consolidated under the ELI project in the Czech Republic, Hungary and Romania.
The Attosecond Facility in Hungary will be the second project, studying the physics of ultrashort optical pulses on the attosecond scale. The facility has a budget of €244.7m and is expected to be operational by the end of 2015, in parallel with the other elements of ELI.
This event is free to attend, but registration by Friday 25 January 2013 is compulsory, with spaces strictly limited. Each delegate will be expected to make a contribution towards their travel and hotel costs of £100.
