Stepless speed controller for 32-pole PM motors

The RHC 200 stepless speed controller from DeltaSense is a simple to operate plug and play device designed for permanent magnet motors used in low speed, high torque applications.
Designed for 32 pole permanent magnet motors up to 370W, with shaft torque from 4Nm to 10Nm, the controller has on-board EMC filtering. The standard rotation speed range of 214-375 rpm can be modified if required, making it possible to replace traditional motor and gear arrangements with a simple direct drive.
Speed control is by a 0-10 V input or digitally by Modbus. There is also a rotor movement sensor input to check the rotor is turning and a relay output for indicating any failures.
A sophisticated set of fault control systems ensures the motor operates even in extreme conditions. Short circuit, over-voltage and temperature protection are all built in.
With a rugged aluminium case, the RHC 200 is IP54 rated and passively cooled for maximum reliability.
An application of the RHC 200 is in rotary heat exchangers, which operate more efficiently with the help of the controller. The controller firmware can be customised to produce the optimal speed/heat demand for a specific application, further reducing power consumption and heat dissipation.
