Easy to use online chain selector

14 February 2013

Renold has launched a new online version of its popular Chain Selector at renoldchainselector.com. The new Chain Selector is very easy to use; there is no software to install and no need to register. All that is required is a little information about the application like input speed, number of sprocket teeth and centre distances etc.

It also takes into consideration operating conditions such as shock loads, lack of lubrication and corrosive environments. Once this information has been entered the Chain Selector will calculate the optimum size and type of chain from approximately 400 product lines and 11 different product types.

The calculation provides an information panel with all the chain options for the application. If the user has defined parameters that would not be possible, safe or practical then the Chain Selector will flag the problem and identify the fields that need to be reviewed.

It won’t allow a user to select a chain that would be impractical or dangerous for an application. After the results have been presented a PDF file containing all the information can be downloaded for future reference.

The new online Chain Selector runs on both Windows and MAC operating systems and in all major browsers.
