On stand D22 at the Drives & Controls show, AEG Electric Motors will be exhibiting a selection of single and 3-phase machines, including brake motors, ATEX approved DIP dust proof motors and examples of custom-engineered machines, plus metric stainless steel motors from the Marlin Stainless range.

The stainless steel motors from Marlin Stainless, a division of AEG, are the latest addition to the product range. Manufactured in 304 stainless steel and designed specifically to withstand high-pressure hose downs (IP66) and corrosive environments, they are ideal for the food, pharmaceutical and process industries. They are offered in power ratings from 0.18 to 7.5 kW in metric frame sizes up to 132 as TEFC machines. Smaller units (up to 0.75 kW) are also available from 63 frame size as TENV machines.

Helping to extend the range of applications for the Marlin motors are compatible stainless steel gearboxes. These worm gearboxes, which have hollow shafts with life lubricated gears, are available with centre distances of 31, 42 and 61mm with ratios from 5:1 to 75:1. Torques range from 0.9Nm to 208Nm and options include gears with torque pins, food spec lubricants and various output shaft designs. Other adaptations can be offered upon request.

AEG specialises in engineered solutions to meet both industry specific requirements, such as needed for the woodworking, marine and railway industries, and application demands like special shafts and housings. The fact that some 70% of motor production is non-standard machines illustrates the company’s ability and commitment to satisfy customer needs, even to the extent of adapting motor technology to produce generators for domestic wind turbines (Windsave) and wave power generation (Pelamis). There are some 20,000 different shaft and flange configurations on the AEG design base that help to ensure manufacturing flexibility to meet customer needs.
