High sensitivity 2 Megapixel USB3 industrial camera for 3D imaging

A new IDS USB3 industrial camera featuring the latest e2v 2 Mpixel CMOS sensor is now available from Stemmer Imaging. The device is suitable for industrial 3D imaging applications in process automation or vehicle body inspection, as well as in medical technology, robotics and logistics.
Versatile operation allows frame rates from 62 frames per second (fps) at full resolution up to 150fps at VGA.
The UI-3250CP is the latest addition to the USB3 uEye CP range of cameras from IDS. The new 2Mpixel CMOS sensor is one of the most sensitive sensors in the IDS product portfolio and is also available in uEye camera models with USB 2.0 and GigE interfaces. Available in monochrome and colour versions, the sensor offers outstanding sensitivity to light, with the imaging quality normally expected from CCD sensors.
The UI-3250CP combines the high-speed data transfer capabilities of USB3 with a choice of three shutter modes, which can be changed during operation. This enables the correct shutter to be chosen for every application and provides unlimited flexibility if requirements should change. Multiple area of interest (AOI) functionality provides four AOIs and a sequential AOI facility so that different features can be captured with a very high frame rate or a series of exposures can be produced.
In addition to a line scan mode, the camera also has a logarithmic mode. This enables high contrast scenes to be reproduced in perfect image quality in a single exposure. In addition to trigger, flash and pulse width modulation, it features two universal general purpose I/Os.
The UI-3250CP camera is extremely compact, at just 29 x 29 x 29mm and power is supplied via the USB bus so there is no need for an additional power cable. With a magnesium housing and screw-on Micro USB 3.0 and Hirose connections, it can withstand adverse ambient conditions in industrial or outdoor environments.
