Drake Power Systems has teamed up with Powerstax to provide a simple and effective way of increasing the efficiency of thyristor controlled rectifiers or transformer/rectifiers with motorised output control. The Powersave constant current density controller employs the 'positive slope' principle of straight-line relationship between current density and applied voltage in applications such as electroplating and electrophoretic painting. This enables it to predict automatically the slope of voltage increase or decrease, which needs to be set to counter a rise or fall in surface area and/or environment.
